Maanshiil Consult is a consultancy organization established in Jigjiga, Somali Regional State, Ethiopia, by a group of research and development workers from the Horn of Africa. Maanshiil has been involved in action-oriented research related to pastoral and agro-pastoral development throughout the Horn of Africa and has an established track record in the field of pastoral research, project implementation, economic development issues, gender studies and policy advocacy among pastoral peoples throughout the region. Maanshiil values Indigenous Knowledge and Practices; and Afro-centric perspectives on African contemporary development issues. It promotes systemic and multi-disciplinary approaches, looking at both national and regional development issues with a view to promoting approaches to policy and program design and implementation that emphasizes outcomes.
Last year, we signed MoU with Jigjiga University which is a Center for Excellence for research related to pastoral and agro-pastoral issues in Ethiopia. We are currently doing a joint-study on the effects of inflation on communities in Somali Regional State, Ethiopia.
